Joey Michaels practiced law since her admission to both the New York and New Jersey State Bars. Ms. Michaels obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
Ms. Michaels dedicates her practice to several areas of the law, including matrimonial and family law, civil and commercial litigation, Article 81 guardianship proceedings, and Appellate practice. Ms. Michaels routinely implements a strategic defense or prosecution of all clients’ rights, whether it is regarding issues of custody or liability on debts. Notably, Ms. Michaels is instrumental in the negotiation and settlement of complex litigation matters for both corporate and individual clients. Ms. Michaels’ ability to both litigate and resolve complex matters is exemplified in a recent matter, wherein she interposed and defended motions that thwarted the loss of nearly $19 million in aircrafts belonging to our client. Ultimately, Ms. Michaels assisted in the negotiation of this matter, saving our client millions of dollars.
Ms. Michaels is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
