Katharine J. RichardsKatharine J. Richards, Esq., is of counsel and devotes her practice to Elder Law, Estate Planning, Asset Protection Planning, Estate Administration, Guardianship, Medicaid, Medicare and Real Estate.

Ms. Richards is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and New York State Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section and Elder Law Section. Additionally, she is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Elder Law, Social Services & Health Advocacy and Surrogate’s Court Committees, and the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Elder Law and Surrogate’s Court Committees. She has also taught classes in elder law and estate planning at Queens College.

Ms. Richards has been published in the Nassau County Bar Association’s Nassau Lawyer and she has presented numerous educational lectures and seminars to many community and professional groups regarding Charitable Gifting, ethical issues in Elder Law, Estate Planning, Asset Protection Planning, Guardianship, Medicaid and Medicare, Real Estate and Estate Administration.

As part of her practice, Ms. Richards strives to educate other attorneys and the general public as to the serious ramifications of improper or insufficient planning, or failing to plan altogether; such as loss of control, loss of decision making capability, excessive taxes and medical care costs, to name but a few.
